Based on the Jewish bread “challah” – this Polish version is a slightly sweet version of the braided bread and topped with crumble.
Bela remembers her mother buying this as a child as an extra special treat for breakfast or snack, and baking this brought back all sort of nostalgic memories.
Absolutely delicious with jam and or butter.
